AMERICANARAMA Featuring Bob Dylan, My Morning Jacket, Wilco & Ryan Bingham @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater - 8/3/13

My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Ryan Bingham & Bob Dylan all played the same show & it was UNREAL!!!

Americanarama was my 1st show ever at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater & I must admit, despite it being quite a trek to get from Santa Monica down to Irvine on a Saturday afternoon (& it also being totally exhausting to spend 5 hours at an intensely amazing show then have to drive back!), I liked the venue a lot more than I expected to!

It didn't hurt that my concert buddy, Andrea, encouraged me to be brave & sneak into WAY better seats for pretty much the entire show. I checked out our Loge 5 seats for part of Wilco's set only & realized being even smack dab in the middle of the venue was still too far away compared to sitting right up front in the Orchestra section which we did for all of MMJ's set as well as all of Bob's.

MMJ & Wilco both KILLED IT & getting to see Bob Dylan, a living LEGEND, definitely was cool but I have to admit, after about 3-4 songs, everything started to sound the same. Bob's still got mad harmonica & piano playing skills but his voice is all gravel.

Regardless, the performances, collaborations (most especially MMJ joining Wilco for their encore to cover Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl), the special guests, Jackson Browne (who performed with both MMJ & Wilco) & the 1 & only Nancy Sinatra (who covered Cher's Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) with Wilco then followed it up with a RAD rendition of These Boots Are Made For Walkin'...be sure to check out my video below!!) & the overall experience were all TOP notch :)
