COACHELLA 2012 - Weekend 1 - The Year of The Storm

Weekend 1 of Coachella 2012 was my 8th year at Coachella &, although it will go down in history as being the coldest, windiest & rainiest Coachella ever (to be honest, I rather enjoyed the change of pace since I've spent the last 7 years sweating my ass off!), I will also always remember Coachella 2012 as the year of the most BAD ASS car camping crew EVER!!!  We managed to bring in 9 cars at once on Thursday afternoon & we rallied a crew of 17 amazingly fabulous people who will all forever hold a special place in my heart :-)

Car camping aside, some of my fave acts of the weekend included Gary Clarke Jr., Pulp, WU LYF, M83, tUnE-yArDs, The Shins, Feist, Bon Iver, RADIOHEAD (!!!), Santigold, Justice, Modeselektor &, last but definitely not least, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Wiz Khalifa AND TUPAC!!!! In my opinion, the Tupac hologram was kinda silly & unnecessarily expensive but it sure did create a buzz! And closing the festival with a giant, high school throwback, rap dance party was SO much fun.

I keep trying to convince myself that I'll skip Coachella next year & just go to Jazzfest in New Orleans instead since I've never been to NOLA & am DYING to visit but, knowing me, I'll probably end up buying another 3-day pass to Coachella 2013 on the layaway plan in June  JUST IN CASE & then attend both. We shall see!!
